Limerick – Cliffs of Moher - Galway and more

1st August Dingle – Limerick – Ballindery

A drive up from Dingle to a small town called Ballindery, passing through classic Irish towns like Tralee and Limerick. The weather was still not the best. Stopped for a walk around Limerick. Staying two nights in an abnb with a lovely lady called Maggie, good accommodation with a great garden.

2nd August Ballindery - Kilmacduagh Abbey - Burren National Park - Cliffs of Moher - Fanore Beach

From Maggie's place in Ballindery the next day, we drove to the Cliffs of Moher along the way, stopping at points of interest like the Kilmacduagh Abbey and the Burren National Park. Spent some time in both having a walk around. Did the clifftop walk at the Cliffs of Moher after Jim dropped everyone off at the southern end and drove back to the car park. Parking is quite expensive and long queues due to the holiday period. The cliffs were pretty spectacular and in some places, extremely windy, with warning signs about the gusts. Managed to get through the walk just before a massive downpour. Drove up the coast in the afternoon past more of the Burren and several beaches, then back to Maggies and to Paddy's bar for dinner.

3rd August Ballindery – Galway – Toorbuck

Said goodbye to Maggie and headed into Galway. Spent most of the day looking around the city. It was very busy with race week, and many people dressed up in their best off to the races. A few were worse for wear, even at that early stage of the day. Went to the museum and then on a walking tour of the city with a guide. The countryside always has lovely scenery, mountains, and lakes, and you just never have enough time to stop everywhere.

The Irish love to own Oscar Wilde. There are many references to him and
this is the second statue we have seen.
