Puerto Williams - Punta Arenas - El Calafate 10th and 11th March
Flew from Puerto Williams to Punta Arenas - all went without incident. A night in Punta Arenas at a very nice BnB. Walked to the bus station wheeling luggage (no horse poo to dodge). We bused from Punta Arenas to El Calafate, this took all day really as we had a wait for connecting bus in Puerto Natales. Very uneventful – border crossing from Chile to Argentina. The bus system is an easy way to get around and a good price, the only down side is you can’t stop where you want. Good views of mountains some of which we missed out on seeing when we did the park visit from Punta Arenas - saw lots more Guanco (Llama) and Rhea (Emu). We also saw some foxes just on dusk, there are two local/native foxes and one introduced species as far as we can make out.
