Turkey - a few days in Karaburun on the Black Sea from 8th to 12th August.
For the first few days in Turkey, we stayed in Karaburun, a seaside town about an hour from Istanbul, where we had a 4-day breather. The abnb was basic, and the power and wifi would go off and on, but it was a good place for a rest. We went for plenty of walks along the beach, and the local dogs would walk with us.
The sea was rough, so there was no swimming, and one night, we had a huge electoral storm with a water spout that reached land. We ended up getting drenched by heavy rain on the way home from our walk. Our host Mufasa said he tried to find us in his car so we didn’t get wet! We sheltered in a cafe for a bit, then braved the elements again.
Host Musfasa, who was very kind, had us for dinner of fish one night, and we took him for a Turkish meal at one of the restaurants nearby the next night. Went fishing in a lake with him and a small drive around the local area. His son, who runs the air abnb was currently in London looking for work.
