St Albans - London - Reigate

St Albans - London - Reigate 19th to 24th July

We had a fab time at Erin and Kasys and enjoyed their company alongside Kasy's cousin Rae, who was also staying. Erin and I had a short walk around St Albans and Hatfield Park, a lovely town, and Erin and Kasy's home there was amazing, they have been busy renovating and done a fab job. Jim helped Erin out in the garden for the day to help with the bigger jobs. Thankfully, he didn't have a chainsaw! We went to London from here to meet up with Reg and Mary, friends from NZ, and went to the Musical 'Book of Mormon," a great show. I recommend it. We managed to navigate the underground with little trouble. We wandered around Piccadilly Circus and watched some street performers at Leicester Square.

We had the true pleasure of meeting with Naomi's parents, Robyn and Cristine, and staying at their home for a few nights in Reigate.  We enjoyed a meal out together, lots of laughs, and met Naomi's sister and family.  They showed us around Reigate, and we walked at the local gardens botanical center Ardingly - Wakehurst Garden. We were shown Naomi's old school, parts of it being 1000 years old - true fact! Robyn plays in a brass band and gave us a couple of tunes on the Trombone.

We also visited Tunbridge Wells, as the Read family (Grandad Read - Arthur and his brother Sydney lived there at some stage before emigrating to New Zealand. No addresses
