Edinburgh
Edinburgh 23rd to 25th June
We travelled up from King Cross in London to Edinburgh on the fast train. A great way to travel and under 5 hours. Plenty to see along the way lots of cropping farmland mainly in grains. In our carriage the train was a wedding party they had the bubbles open quite early on in the trip and got louder as the trip progressed.
What a lovely welcome to Edinburgh to be met by Eilidh - tour guide extraordinaire, whisking us away from the station to our accommodation then straight into a look around the beautiful Edinburgh. A city of course of castles, very old building a, gardens and much to look at.
The following day a pick up and drive down to the Borders for a town fair at Peebles and out to the coast to Berwick. We meet up with Matt who we hadn't seen since August 2022. So great best day. Jim went to the Highland Agricultural show the following day and Matt and I had a day walking all over the city The next day we went with Eilidh again to the to the lovely Trossachs region and up to St Andrews. She was a great guide with plenty of local info.
We stayed in an abnb with a lady called Holly and her two cats. Good place to stay only 15 minutes walk to the city and Holly was great to chat to and gave us some more local info.
