Ensenada - Cochamo - Petrohue - Osorno Volcano

Ensenada - Cochamo - Petrohue - Osorno Volcano  19th Feb

Up and into it on the 19th excellent breaky supplied by Ricardo. Off to Cochamo a small town by the sea an inlet much like the Marlborough Sounds once again mussel farms. salmon farms and a church (point of interest.) Very scenic and mountains and beach forest much like NZ. The best thing about Chile so far are the wild blackberries (best ever) it’s a weed and grows everywhere. They must have got a better variety than NZ as it’s very sweet and has prolific berries - yum. On to Petrohue a drive up to a National Park. One thing we have noticed there don’t seem to be the walking options that we have in NZ. They are few and far between and no real places even to pull off and have a look around. Very hard to pull off the highway and stop for a view.  When we got to the Park the track its absolutely swarming with people – (hundreds, just crazy) so decided to forsake looking at the waterfall. The area is very scenic and much like NZ - beach forest and high mountains. The area has many volcanos so after tea we were able to drive up the Osorno Volcano, giving us amazing views, even to a glacier in the distance and also deep valleys and sea views. Still haven’t seen the small native deer. Stayed in hostel again with Ricardo.
