Chaiten to Puerto Montt 2nd March

Leaving Chaiten we tossed up whether to fly or go by bus but after spending some time in the park we decided to go by bus because we would see more. The bus ride also included three ferry rides. Lotta dropped us off in Chaiten bit of a wait around and the bus left a 10.20am – on time – great. It was well worth taking the bus option and the ferry rides were very scenic. Very much like the Marlborough Sounds. On the ferry we ran into the British couple we had met in Valparaiso and were able to have a good chat about their experiences. They were well travelled and good company. The bus got in to Puerto Montt just on dark and then a short walk to the hotel where we stayed earlier.
