Waitangi Day - 6th Feb Mon

We got up at 3 am to be away by half past 3 to get to Waitangi for the dawn service.

We were the first to arrive at the golf course carpark – very organized as we were not sure what to expect, then we walked down the hill to the meeting house - Te Whare Rūnanga for the dawn service. 

Some close encounters with the new Prime Minister and a retired one. 

Good day, well worth going, no issues in fact very peaceful and organized. 

Back down to Whangarei for a catch up and cup of tea with friends Mike and Robyn Sullivan 

Back to Cheryl’s for the night.
